What We Believe
• Who are our members?
St. Elias has approximately 65 members, many of whom are immigrants, refugees, or first-generation Americans whose countries of origin range from Palestine, Syria, Lebanon, Jordan and Iraq in the Middle East to Egypt and the Sudan in Africa.
• In what language do we worship?
In recognition of our Arabic & Middle Eastern heritage, we worship in Arabic. English bulletins with translations are available.
• What do Lutheran Christians believe?
• We believe in Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior.
• We believe in the creeds of the Christian church.
• We believe in unity among Christians.
• We believe we are saved by God's grace through our faith and not by our actions.
* We believe in the virgin birth of Jesus by Mary, as we profess in the Apostles' Creed.
• We practice the sacraments of Baptism and Holy Communion to participate in God's presence with us through the Holy Spirit.
